In support of state law, the Pierre School District expects all children to be in attendance of their school unless engaged in an alternate program.
Online student registration will open on July 1st for parents and guardians of students currently enrolled in the Pierre School District, as well as those wishing to enroll their children in the district for the upcoming school year. Instructions on completing student registration can be found on our Back to School 2024-2025 webpage. The webpage also contains general back-to-school information families will need to prepare for the start of the school year.

Fragmented Freedom by Magnus Weber
Congratulations to Magnus Weber for receiving first place in the Congressional Art Competition for his ink drawing titled Fragmented Freedom! Magnus drew this piece during the Regional Art Wars Competition in Rapid City in February. He was given the prompt “Fragmented.” He was given 1 ½ hours to complete it. Fragmented Freedom will be exhibited, along with the pieces from all of the US Congressional Districts in the Cannon Tunnel of the US Capitol! Magnus will be invited to attend a reception at the capital in Pierre to receive an award given by Dusty Johnson. This is the second time a TF Riggs student has won first place in the Congressional Art Competition.
The T.F. Riggs FBLA chapter is proud of their success in all their competitive events at the FBLA Spring Conference in Sioux Falls this week. Congratulations go out to the following FBLA members for receiving these awards:

Qualifying for nationals which will be held in Anaheim, CA, June 29 through July 2 are Nicole Weiss, Bella Pickner, Jacob Mikkonen, Charlee Williams-Smith, Campbell Cronin, Brianna Goodman, Chloe Bowers, Harper Reichling, Isabelle Weller, Ava Johnson, and Kate Cremer.
The Pierre School Board approved the 2025-2026 school calendars at the Febuary 10th board meeting. The school year will start on August 19th, 2025 for all schools in the district.

Parent/Guardian(s) looking to enroll their child in the Pierre School District must complete our Student Online Registration.
Use a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to complete the online registration. Each school in the district has computers available to complete online student registration, if necessary.
Select "Start New Registration" to provide information for all children. All students can be added to the same application.
